Service liveness and readiness

There should be automated liveness and readiness checks for services that reliably detect unhealthy instances, surface actionable diagnostics, and allow sensible defaults with per-service overrides. Check results should be exposed in logs and the UI so teams can quickly troubleshoot and act on failing health checks.
